How to change the microphone for recording

Change your Microphone on an IE Edge browser

  1. Click on the top right three dots (•••).
  2. Find Click on Cookies and site permissions on the left menu.
  3. Under the All Permissions section, click on Microphone (or visit edge://settings/content/microphone).
  4. Change the device in the dropdown.

Change your Microphone on a Safari browser

  1. After allowing the browser to use the microphone and camera, a red camera icon will appear in the search / URL bar. If a microphone is not connected, it will show a red microphone.
  2. Click on the red microphone and select another device, if available.

Change your Microphone on a Chrome browser

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More (three dots) > Settings.
  3. Click Privacy and security > Site settings > Microphone (or visit chrome://settings/content/microphone).
  4. Select the option that you want as your default setting.

If you're using a Chrome device at work or school, your network administrator can set camera and microphone settings for you. In that case, you can't change them here.

Change your Microphone on a Firefox browser

  1. While on the Orson site, click on the camera icon to the left inside the search / URL bar (next to the lock icon).
  2. Click on the “Allowed Temporarily” text or x icon next to words.
  3. Refresh the page.
  4. Wait for the device permission modal to appear from the left part of the search / URL bar.
  5. Select the relevant microphone from the drop-downs and click Allow.
